Trescott Historical Society to host Genealogy Exchange

The Trescott Historical Society will be hosting its annual Genealogy Exchange at the Lubec Memorial Library, Water Street, on Tuesday evening, July 13 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM.

Participating towns in this year's event are Lubec, Trescott, Cutler, East Machias, Whiting and the Canadian islands of Campobello and Grand Manan.

The Genealogy Exchange provides a unique opportunity to examine a town's early vital records, cemetery lists, vintage assessors' maps, family files and matters of common interest, and to put people in contact with others who have been searching the same family histories.

This year will feature two professional title searchers who will be available to assist those wishing to find the age of their home, with helpful tips on how to trace the ownership of their property back to its beginning.

The event is free and open to the public.
