Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC)
May 18, 2005Charles Corliss of the Maine Land Use Regulation Commission (LURC) who is in charge of building permits in the plantations and unorganized townships of Washington Co. will be a guest speaker on Wednesday, May 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lubec Memorial Library. (Our regular business meeting will begin at 5:30.) He will give an overview of LURC’s building permit process including what permits are required for building, remodeling or subdividing for residential and conservation uses and how to get the required forms and the latest changes in LURC rules. Also present will be Carol Murtaugh of Lubec, one of the seven commission members appointed by the Governor. She will discuss the duties of her board and some of the changes within it since its creation in 1971.
This program is part of the on–going lecture series sponsored by the Trescott Historical Society and is free and open to the public. Refreshments offered by L. Healy. For further information contact Bonnie at 733–5548.
