News Notes – Fall, 2004
It has been a rewarding year. Our lecture series, which is free and open to the public, included the following topics:
In July we held a Genealogy Exchange and Fair with five local towns and New Brunswick islands, Campobello and Grand Manan, participating. The public was invited to look over town records, learn how to date a house or sleuth their roots. Our annual picnic was held in August at West Ouoddy Head. A jolly smart time was had by all. By consensus this picnic was the best one yet. Our upcoming holiday fling Should be even better. On the heels of receiving our IRS 501(c)(3) status last year, we are now also exempt from all state sales and property taxes. Our annual holiday party will take place on Wednesday, December 8th, from 5:30 to 8:00 at the Lubec Library. Members are welcome to bring whatever food hits their fancy and a gift with a value of no more than $10. Our infamous egg nog will be served. Storm date will be the next night, same time and place. Please try to attend the January 12th meeting to vote for officers. Contact Nominating Committee members David or Juanita Pressley at 733-4708 by January 7th if you would like to nominate a candidate for any office for the coming fiscal year. An asterisk appearing before your address is a reminder that your dues are now payable ($10 single, $15 couple or family). The officers join in wishing you the nicest and warmest of holidays. |
